I can’t believe we made it to the year we make contact!
Geez, there goes another sf date passing. First 1984 (I'm old, OK?), then 1990 (UFO), 1999, then 2001 and now 2010 … and still no flying cars.
I made contact with that movie once. Once.
we won't get flying cars until we all learn how to use the non-flying ones safely and responsibly… namely, never.
Let's hope John Lithgow has been secretly on his way to spacewalk over Jupiter sometime later this year.
Well, what did Cutter expect was going to happen when he told one of the F-Chords characters to guard the doors?
ahem, TWO F-Chords characters. You must not have recognized Wade since he's doing the whole Geordi Laforge thing.
I did wonder where those guys had gone…
Sadly, "Forbidden Planet" seems to have a more accurate prediction of our capability for advanced spaceflight. Made in 1957, it predicts a moon landing by 2100 and interstellar flight by 2200 with movie being set in 2259. Granted, Apollo 11 was in 1969, but we haven't really done anything with it, so 2100 for something meaningful sounds about right.
man, I totally read 'Roy Sheider' as Rob Schneider and almost immediately gagged
does anybody know in which cartoon jinx ponders his dream about being vanquished by some weird insect lifecycle thingy then is asked by beam about his nightmare and jinx then retorts "nightmare?"
i cant seem to find that cartoon
There's a Monolith in Denver with a note that says "All these worlds are yours, etc"
I can't believe we've reached the year we finally become a binary star system…
Only 9 years till we have five replicants roaming the streets of Los Angeles looking for their Creator and one mysterious cop trying to "retire" them…
