My periodic table print was linked by io9, Gizmodo, a zillion other places, and also tweeted about by Roger Ebert and William Gibson! Also the Blamimation debuted today as well as guest art at Penny Arcade because Mike is sick. Truth be told I’m also sick, but everything is coming up Milhouse. I know Starslip got the short end this week, but it was impossible to avoid, a perfect storm. I’m figuring out what needs to happen to avoid that in the future.

Might I suggest having a couple mini-stories on hand that take place in the SS universe, but not directly within the main plotline? Something like the Zookeepers on Ganymede Station. . . .
(1) More coffee.
(2) Less sleep.
(3) Enslave other talented artists into the hive mind ("WE ARE THE STRAUB").
(4) Don't sweat it. Seriously. You give as much as any comic artist out there, if you need a break or just want to work on something else for a bit, big deal. Nobody's taking Starslip Crisis* off their bookmark list.

Yes, if you only made one Starslip a week and each were as funny as the one you made this week, I would not be sad in the least.
And the Blamimation and the PA strip were both great too. I think it's definitely a mark in your favor that you're willing to set aside your personal projects to deal with your obligations to others.
You're a good writer. I've always appreciated that. You're working in a new field that will be around for decades and decades and decades, a pioneer. I appreciate your commitment. Your ability to make Memnon a sympathetic character rather than simply an over-educated stooge is the mark of a real artist. And god, that bit with Jovia broke my heart.
